If you're a web programmer you don;t ever need to go hungry. There are many things you can do to gain employment. First hop onto Craigslist. It will automatically default to your location. But if you push the trademark on the left hand side of the page you can navigate to any town or an entire country. Remember especially with web design you don't need to be from the same city or country even as the individual that posted the job.
Head to the web programmer and info section. You will see some posts that are looking out for seo and pr work as well. Avoid this unless that is something you do as well or something you can contract out to someone else. Search thru the posts. You may find many so you can open up the posts you have an interest in on another tab on your browser. When you have finished skimming go back and check the job posts you like.
Not everyone on Craigslist leaves their private e-mail. They can typically be contacted by a Craigslist form. For any that leave their web address you may go to it and look for a contact form or e-mail. Send your message on Craigslist and via their website if they give one. Answer to their ad plus a few others and try to engage with them for the job opening.
Another way to find work as a web designer is by contacting internet marketing and seo companies. Only some of them perform complex web design work and many need employed help because of their work loads. On the same spin if you have a website but you aren't getting much traffic because you don't have seo abilities, try and start up a deal with a seo company.
Perhaps if you send clients their way they will send clients to you as well. This is a pleasant partnership to be concerned with.
