I’m Dr. Phil Yaeger, CPA and founder of Yaeger CPA Review. When I took the CPA exam in 1974, there weren’t a whole lot of CPA exam prep options. I did take a review course and managed to pass the exam, but my experience wasn’t a good one. I knew there was room for a smarter approach.
So what did I do first? I got a job teaching at one of those big-name CPA review courses! In the year or so I worked there, I learned two important things: #1 – I love teaching, and #2 – I could do a whole lot better than the impersonal, unfocused and robot-drone delivered courses being peddled to anxious CPA students.

So in 1977, I started Yaeger CPA Review to get to the heart of what CPA candidates really need to know to sit for the exam with confidence – and earn their CPAs.
Over the years, our live course has evolved into a video series to accommodate the busy schedules of working professionals like you — but our philosophy hasn’t changed a bit: We not only teach students WHAT to do, and HOW to do it, but also, WHY to do it. Remember, we are the “Y” course. Teaching you WHY you are doing what you are doing to get the right answer.

Today, there are many CPA review courses to choose from. Some are slick and quick with deep pockets, pumping money into their marketing machine rather than improving course material and finding motivating instructors. Others just don’t know enough to “cut to the chase” for you, so you’re stuck wasting precious study hours on topics you don’t need and won’t be tested.
